Baked camembert is one of my favourite foods, but there are so many ways to make it and this sweet & peppery version made with sweet honey and smokey harissa is my newest favourite!

Harissa Honey Baked Camembert is something that’s so easy to make with ingredients that you can keep on hand for emergency snacking moments. It’s also a great way to use up any slightly stale bread you have on hand that will be instantly revived from a little toasting.

Typically I make this and all my baked camembert recipes in a small enamel pie plate or something similar. If you don’t have one they are quite inexpensive and can easily be found online. Let’s get started!
Ingredients
- 1x 250g camembert
- 25ml garlic oil
- 25ml honey
- 1 teaspoon harissa paste
- Baguette, sourdough or other crusty bread
Method
- Preheat the oven to 200°C / 180°C Fan / 400°F.
- Prepare the camembert by unwrapping it and replacing it into the box with the lid on the bottom for reinforcement. Place the cheese in its box into a small oven-proof dish and score the top with a knife in a criss-cross pattern, making sure to slice into the cheese down to the box edge. This will help the sauce go into the cheese.
- In a jug or a measuring cup, mix together the garlic oil, hone and harissa paste and then pour this mixture over the cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until golden on top and completely melted through. Serve hot with toasted bread for dipping.
