Giant Blowtorch S’Mores

S'mores made from Digestive Biscuits on a yellow striped plate

A lack of outdoor space should not prevent you from enjoying delicious S’mores while snuggled up watching a great film! I guess this is more of a kitchen hack than a recipe, but it gets the job done. All you need is a kitchen blowtorch. It doesn’t have to be a super expensive fancy one. I got mine at Robert Dyas many years ago and it does the job for this recipe as well as lots of others. I use it all the time for things like Creme Brulee or cake decorating. It’s easy to find one for less than £15 or £20 online and if you love S’mores that seems like as good an excuse as any to invest in one!

I won’t bother giving you exact amounts of ingredients because how many S’mores you make is entirely up to you. You might make just one. You might want to make 10… Just make sure you have enough of everything for as many as you hope to make and keep in mind that they are quite big and very filling.

Ingredients

  • Digestive biscuits (2 per)
  • Giant chocolate buttons (1-2 per)
  • Giant American-style toasting marshmallows (1 per)

Method

  1. Lay out your digestive biscuits and place chocolate buttons on top of them. I like 2 chocolate buttons – one on each side of the marshmallow, but some people only like one. It’s your choice.
  2. Place a giant marshmallow onto a metal skewer if you have one. If you don’t have one, use a fork. Begin toasting your marshmallow with the blowtorch. Take care as they may catch on fire. You might choose to have a glass of water nearby just in case, but if your marshmallow does light up, you should be able to easily blow out the flame.
  3. Before placing the marshmallow on the biscuit, be sure to toast the side that will touch the chocolate quickly to heat it up so the button will melt. Use another skewer or fork to work the marshmallow onto the chocolate lined biscuit. Then toast the other side of the marshmallow quickly before sandwiching it between the biscuits & chocolate buttons.
  4. If the sides aren’t toasted enough or melted enough, touch them up using your blow torch. Squish gently to make it like sandwich and enjoy!

Optional Additions

You might want to switch your S’mores up a bit and why not? It’s fun! Try any of these additional toppings on your blowtorch s’mores…

  • Nutella
  • Peanut Butter
  • Chopped nuts
  • Banana slices
